Accessibility statement

This site is built to be usable by everyone.

Black Bomb Inc. is committed to making blackbombinc.com accessible to people with disabilities, including the procurement, facilities, and clinical staff at the public agencies we serve. This statement describes the standard we build to, what we have done, what we know falls short, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.

Standard

This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and by California Government Code §7405 and §11135. We have not commissioned an independent audit. Where we find a problem, or where one is reported to us, we fix it.

What we have done

  • Every page uses semantic HTML: one top-level heading, a logical heading order, landmark regions, and tables with proper header cells so that screen readers can announce what a cell refers to.
  • Everything can be operated with a keyboard alone. Focus is always visible, and a “Skip to main content” link is the first thing the Tab key reaches.
  • Text and interface colors meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required at Level AA. The site does not use color as the only means of conveying information.
  • The quote request form labels every field, marks required fields in text as well as by symbol, announces validation errors to assistive technology, and never clears what you have typed when a submission is returned for correction.
  • The site works with JavaScript disabled or blocked, including the quote request form. Agency networks that restrict scripts can still use every page.
  • Nothing flashes and there are no videos or chat widgets. The one moving element — the rotating photograph behind the home page headline — is decorative, has a visible pause control, holds while you are on that control, and does not rotate at all when your system asks for reduced motion.
  • Every page prints cleanly, and the Qualifications page prints as one or two pages suitable for a requisition packet.
  • Text resizes to at least 200% without loss of content or function, and pages reflow for narrow screens without horizontal scrolling.
  • One font is served from this domain with the system font as fallback. Where it is blocked, text renders immediately in the fallback and nothing is lost.

Known limitations

  • Documents we provide on request — product specification sheets and Safety Data Sheets — are produced by manufacturers, and we cannot guarantee they are tagged for screen readers. If you need one in an accessible format, ask and we will do what we can to obtain or produce it.
  • Any PDF we publish ourselves, such as a capability statement, is intended to be tagged and readable by assistive technology. If you find one that is not, tell us and we will correct it.
